TRIXY is an offline engagement design for Gen Alpha, transforming digital reward systems into physical, hands-on experiences. It reduces screen dependency while fostering healthier routines and stronger parent–child relationships.
The Goal
Design a structured service system that makes it more appealing than screens
The Users
Gen Alpha (ages 3-12) and their concerned millennial parents
Asssumpt Outcome
47% average reduction in daily screen time, 92% subscriber retention

Gen Alpha is the first generation to grow up fully immersed in digital environments. Screens are embedded in learning, entertainment, and social interaction, shaping daily routines from an early age. As digital engagement becomes a dominant part of childhood, families are increasingly navigating questions around screen time, balance, and meaningful alternatives. This project begins within this broader context.

As screen-based engagement becomes routine, children spend a growing portion of their time in digital spaces. Offline activities, while available, often struggle to sustain consistent interest over time. This shift raises a broader question: how can alternative experiences meaningfully capture and hold children’s attention in an environment where screens dominate daily interaction?

If a child completes the mission from the previous package, the next delivery arrives with their reward card. Each new package introduces a different story theme and a new set of activities.
Completion is acknowledged in the following cycle, linking past effort to future content.
By connecting completion to the next delivery, the system builds anticipation and sustains long-term engagement.

TRIXY creates an alternative rhythm to digital consumption — one built on shared experiences, visible progress, and steady engagement. It supports children’s growth while offering families a calmer, more intentional way to spend time together.

By doing this project, I learned a lot…
By doing this project, I learned a lot…
Thinking beyond the object
I started by focusing on the book and the physical artifacts. Over time, I began to see that what mattered more was how the different moments connected — anticipation, completion, and continuation. The experience was shaped not only by objects, but by the sequence around them.
Good Collaboration Needs Clear Translation
Because our research, concept, and visual output were all closely connected, I had to keep translating ideas across different stages of the process. It was not enough to have a strong insight — it also had to be communicated clearly enough for the team to design around it together.
Collaboration Also Means Knowing What to Hold Onto
Working in a team also taught me that collaboration is not only about compromise. It is also about recognizing which ideas need to stay consistent, and knowing when to push for clarity so the final design does not lose its core logic.
